April 22nd 2025 start date. Register by Thursday April 19th 2025. Please note, you must drop by Sunday April 27th 2025 to receive a full refund.
Class will be held Tuesday and Thursday 11:00am-1:00pm. Both in-person and online practicums will be available for course participants seeking certification.
Who is it for?
Professionals that are interested in gaining mediation and conflict resolution skills that can be applied in a number of settings such as human resources, leadership, supportive housing, case management and civil court.
This course meets all requirements for California Dispute Resolution Programs Act (DRPA) Mediator certification. This certification allows recipients to act as civil mediators and register in San Diego County Civil Court as a Mediator.

What skills will I gain from this?
Communication skills and techniques, including building trust, empowerment tactics, effective listening and clarifications skills. Face-to-face as well as over-the-telephone communication skills shall be addressed.
Problem identification and disagreement management skills, including: instruction in the establishment of priorities and areas of agreement and disagreement, management of special problems that threaten the process.
Techniques for achieving agreement or settlement, including: instruction in creating a climate conducive to resolution, identifying options, reaching consensus, and working toward agreement.

Structure of Course
32 hours of class time and 8 hours of practicum that will be offered both online and in person at our San Diego Office in Old Town.
Class will be offered over Zoom twice per week.
