Re-Entry Programming & Curriculum
RJMP has been offering Re-entry Prep Programs in San Diego County Jails since 2015 and strives to offer this curriculum to those who have experienced incarceration and are in the process of reintegrating back into the community.
RJ-RPP is designed especially to meet the needs of people who are preparing to return to their communities after incarceration within the San Diego area. It has a manualized curriculum that is both cognitive-based and reentry-focused. It is grounded in the restorative justice principles and practices of accountability, recognizing harms, developing empathy and remorse, understanding victim impact, and promoting personal healing.
RJRPP is used in Jails, Prisons, and Reentry Facilities and is modified based on the facility needs. Participants explore root causes of the behavior that lead them to incarceration, and understand their impact of the harm and importance of impactful personal changes.
Peacemakers Institute & Mediation Certification
The Peacemakers Institute is a 3 Module program currently being offered by RJC in CDCR and Juvenile Detention Facilities.
The first 2 modules offer participants an opportunity to explore peace, accountability, communication skills, values, relationships, and conflict resolution within a Restorative Justice lens.
The 3rd and final module allows participants to obtain a vocational certificate as DRPA Mediators int eh state of CA.
We are currently offering this program at Centinela, Donovan, and East Mesa Juvenile Facility with over 100 graduates in 2024.
RJC will be expanding this programming to various others CDCR facilities in 2025.
